In fact, it is fairly clear that Harton considers their profit more important than our community. Last year Harton reported more than $22 million in profit according to the State of Tennessee’s Joint Annual Report of Hospitals. That’s $60,740.37 in profit every day. It’s no wonder they are trying to delay the building of a new, state-of-the-art community hospital that Manchester so badly needs - they make more and more money for every day we don’t have a modern facility in our community.

Today, Harton is having an event to celebrate their new expansion. We wish them well, but we’d just like to know they think that Tullahoma deserves a modern medical facility but Manchester doesn’t.

Estimated profit made by Harton Regional since the CON was granted: $18,080,034

In December of 2007 United Regional Medical Center went before the State of Tennessee Health Services Development Agency to ask for approval to build a brand new facility to replace an aging one built in 1954. URMC received a unanimous vote in favor of approval for the Certificate of Need. At that point URMC set in motion the plans to begin building Manchester the state of the art medical facility it so desperately needs and deserves. However, progress was halted when an appeal was entered by Medical Center of Manchester and Harton Regional Medical Center.

If you would like to see URMC build Manchester a new state of the art medical facility please click here and leave a comment to let Bobby Couch, CEO at Medical Center of Manchester and Matthew Roberts, CEO at Harton Regional Medical Center know that you would like for them to please drop the appeal.

Our hospital and our community are seeking to build a modern, state-of-the-art hospital to replace the outdated United Regional Medical Center. A new hospital now will bring a birthing and Intensive Care Unit to Manchester in a state-of-the-art facility.

To complete this process, we must obtain a Certificate of Need (CON) from the State of Tennessee Health Services Development Agency. Manchester needs and deserves a NEW HOSPITAL NOW and we need your support to make it happen! We need your active support for a NEW HOSPITAL NOW, here’s why:

• Manchester is a growing community that saw 13 percent growth in just one year! This new facility is essential to the future health and safety our citizens.

• A new hospital now will mean MANCHESTER BABIES will be BORN IN MANCHESTER!

• A new hospital now will bring a modern Intensive Care Unit and more specialty care to our community, allowing us to stay in Manchester during times of critical need.

• The current 54-year-old hospital contains practically no private patient rooms, and requires patients queue up in line to use communal bathrooms.

• A new hospital now will create new jobs for Manchester, both in the hospital and out in the community. A quality healthcare delivery system brings business and opportunity to us!
Ways to show your support:

1. Sign the petition in support of a NEW HOSPITAL NOW!

2. Put up yard signs. Wear buttons. Show your neighbors and friends your support for a new hospital for Manchester.

3. Tell your friends and neighbors to support a NEW HOSPITAL NOW!
